The small island Mochlos is right out in the ocean next to the village. The still ongoing archeological excavations of Minoan settlement can be visited by boat trips or by swimming those 100m if the weather allowes it.

Mochlos can be reached by car. It is 5km away from the main road between Agios Nikolaos and Sitia.
